From the outside, definitely does not look like much. When we walked in, it looked like a neighborhood market and not a place to sit down and have a nice sit down breakfast. But once you get past the shelves of every hot sauce you can imagine a long with fantas and dozens of kinds of candies etc, There are a seating area with tables. On the day we were there, the stream table was piled high with lengua, carnitas and barabacoa. I only tried the barabacoa on four tortillas. My morning partner had one barabacoa and one jeuvos con chilies. .... She finished her juevos without offering me any to try ... She only mildly apologized because "they were so good I forgot to share!" and promised to let me try some the next time we came. The salsa and fixings were absolutely fresh. The wall was lines with 30 feet of cooles filled with every beverage you could want. They marked our drink choice down along with your taco order on a post note for us to present to the cashier when we finished. Low tech but it worked. The staff was super friendly, helpful and attentive. It really made for a great roll outta bed and find tacos kinda start for the day. Loved the igloo coolers full of hot freshly delivered corn tortillas at the counter. The lady at the counter said they come from a factory a few miles down the road, but unfortunately they didn't sell the handmade flour tortillas the same way . . We "dined in" at one of their tables but there was a steady, steady, steady stream of people coming in and buying the meats by the pound to take home .... That seems to be the bulk of the business done that way. Definitely going back and forth those passing by and not stopping, you're missing out.

From the moment you step inside, the vibrant display of an extensive hot sauce collection and shelves brimming with candies and beverages hints at the rich cultural experience awaiting you.

The heart of La Raza lies in its exceptional meats. Customers praise the barbacoa, carnitas, and menudo, highlighting their bold and spicy flavors. The barbacoa alone, served in multiple styles including the beloved cabeza, showcases the culinary depth that sets this taquería apart. Freshly made corn tortillas arrive hot and ready, sourced from a nearby factory—a small but significant detail that elevates each bite.

What makes La Raza stand out is not just the quality of its food but the genuine hospitality. The staff is attentive and friendly, simplifying the ordering process with straightforward, low-tech charm.
